Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy vs. Ketamine Infusion Therapy By PratiTeam

Here’s a good summary paragraph from the article:

“Much of the research on ketamine’s mental health benefits has been conducted following the ketamine infusion model. As such, there is substantial evidence supporting the positive outcomes of this approach for treatment-resistant depression, acute suicidality, and other challenging conditions. While more studies are needed to validate the benefits of adding psychotherapy to ketamine treatment, it is reasonable to conclude that KAP can enhance the positive outcomes of ketamine treatment versus infusions alone.”

I know people who have benefitted from infusion therapy without any intentional integration work. I know people who have benefitted from KAP. I think our job here isn’t to find the one right path but to know about and have respect for the various paths and to support our colleagues who do things like and unlike our approaches. Many paths, right? Let’s keep reading and learning and refining our approaches to our work. Our clients will benefit from our efforts as well as from the networks we build so that we can educate them about all the approaches that are available to them.

Take care, everybody.
